Gratitude Brings Abundance

Being patient during adversity, and being grateful for the blessings which Allah has given us are two ways in which we can develop a relationship with Allah.

Being grateful is the best way for us to be close to Allah. When we are thankful, we strive to improve our relationship with Allah.

In The Holy Quran, Allah declares:
“And soon shall We reward the ones who are grateful”
(Surah Aal-e-Imran)

Being grateful to Allah in all circumstances is the finest approach to lead a good and productive life.

Does having a grateful spirit make life better?

Being grateful in life indicates that, even though your life may not be ideal, or you may not have everything you want, but still you cherish and enjoy it.

One of the main causes of people’s unhappiness and desperation is a lack of gratitude. Having gratitude makes it easier and quicker for us to get through challenging moments.

According to psychology, human beings are more attracted towards joyful moments, abundance, and great experiences; when they take the time to recognize all the ways that life has been kind to them.

In The Holy Quran, Allah has stated:
“ And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them” (Surah An Nahl)

Even when life is challenging, it might be easy to feel bad about the situations; however, no matter how bad things seem right now, there are countless things in life for which we should be grateful.

In Surah Ibrahim, Allah has stated:
“If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allah), I will give you more (of My Blessings), but if you are thankless (i.e. disbelievers), verily! My Punishment is indeed severe.”

Happiness and contentment are enhanced by gratitude. Whatever we are grateful for, Allah will surely multiply His favors and blessings upon us.

Take your time, find a quiet spot, and express gratitude every day for everything in your life, including your health, relationships, education, wisdom, challenges, knowledge, and even blunders. Make sure your happiness and blessings blossom right before your eyes.

How do I practice gratitude in my life?

Whenever I feel ungrateful, I focus on the positive aspects of my life, it really makes me feel better, and keeps me calm. This is how I practice gratitude in my life.

I appreciate everything expressing Allah’s gratitude for tiny things. I recall where I was at the beginning of my life and where I am now.

Being ungrateful never brings happiness, and prevents one from receiving Allah’s grace.

Always be thankful for everything. Consider the comfort Allah has provided to you and all the individuals who are there to support you. Embrace each moment that life has given to you. You attract more when you are appreciative. The more we thank Allah, the less it is.

Being thankful brings an abundance of blessings in our lives, and it is the best way to make our life easier and happier.

May Allah make us from those who are grateful when in blessing, patient when in hardship, and are constant remembrance of Him at all times. Aameen
